Bloom Bond FAQ
BLOOM BOND
What's the deal with these flowers?
In character, what does this mean?
How do I track my Bloom Bond?
- When a character is apped into Royal Decree, they're assigned a flower that is reflected in gameplay - a unique bloom that grows in response to their fortunes in love. This is referred to, OOCly, as the Bloom Bond. These flowers grow and change based on your character's connections and relationships.
As part of the app, you'll be asked to suggest three flowers you think might suit your character. Final assignments are made by the mod team to help keep things balanced across the cast, but we'll always take your suggestions into account!
The current flower types are:
- ❤ Hyacinth
Positive: Joy, sincerity, felicity
Negative: Jealousy, sorrow, rashness
❤ Hydrangea
Positive: Patience, loyalty, good fortune,
Negative: Pride, heartlessness, coldness
❤ Forget-me-not
Positive: Nurturing, affection, endurance
Negative: Grief, death, stubbornness
❤ Geranium
Positive: Protection, comfort, destiny
Negative: Doubt, melancholy, foolishness
❤ Tulip
Positive: Bright future, redemption, belief
Negative: Unrequited feelings, posessiveness, regret
❤ Lily
Positive: Modesty, prosperity, warmth
Negative: Hatred, deception, greed
You'll be assigned a flower, but you're free to choose the color that best represents your character's personal baggage - we mean, uh, aesthetic.
In character, what does this mean?
- ICly, these flowers are a part of the magic of the Everbloom. The Bloom Bond is formed when a character is summoned to Rosavelle by the Everbloom's magic, and that link to the Everbloom creates a space in its enchanted greenhouse just for them, where flowers begin to grow... or not. There's no visible connection to any character, but their link to the Everbloom's magic will give everyone an innate sense of whose flowerbed is whose.
As your character builds relationships - romantic, platonic, or somewhere in between - their Bloom Bond responds. It flourishes with genuine connection and growth, and falters when bonds are neglected or feelings are buried too deep. For characters who wear a mask or keep people at arm's length, the Bloom Bond can become an unintentional tell: no matter how charming they act, a stubbornly wilted flower might say otherwise. The flowers also reflect how characters feel about each other. Deep connections may result in hybrid blooms appearing in both parties' flowerbeds, while broken trust or enmity might lead to twisted or unpleasant blossoms taking root.
Bonus thread rewards may also be flower-specific, so don't forget to check the Bonus Threads page to make the most of what your bloom can do!
In short, this is basically an in-universe CR chart with some bells and whistles, and players are encouraged to have fun with it! How will your blooms turn out?
How do I track my Bloom Bond?
- It's simple, don't worry! All you have to do is include a short note in their AC write-up describing how your flower is currently doing and what developments in CR have affected it.
If there turns out to be player demand for it, we're also open to making a page specifically for tracking Bloom Bonds so you can see them all in the same place.
