Calanthe Rosabella Petalia de Amoré
They/them
The crown princess of the kingdom and soon-to-be sovereign... assuming everything goes according to plan. Dutiful and deeply committed to their role, they've spent their life studying politics, history, and the magic that keeps the kingdom thriving. Unfortunately, all those book smarts haven't exactly translated into common sense, and their understanding of social interactions comes primarily from formal etiquette lessons and romance novels (which may or may not be the best references). Socially awkward but doing their very best, they'll confidently say something bonkers only to realize like a ten whole seconds later what just came out of their mouth. With their coronation fast approaching, they've summoned advisors from across worlds to help them understand the one thing they can't seem to grasp - love. ... this is technically forbidden magic, but don't worry about it.
Nadeshiko Hanabira-no-Kisaragi
She/her
The crown princess's unflappable lady-in-waiting and bodyguard. A noblewoman from a distant land, she calls Rosavelle home now, though the story of how she came to serve the princess is, in her words, "long, tedious, and not relevant to current operations." (Translation: not your business). Despite her youth, Nadeshiko serves as the steward of the royal household - every servant ultimately answers to her. Her standards are high and under her flat affect is a razor wit and a habit of quietly skewering anyone who doesn't meet said standards - which is, unfortunately, most people. Beneath that cool exterior, though, is someone quietly devoted - the kind of person who won't say she cares, but will make sure the princess eats a hearty three meals every day regardless.

Chef Armand Fleurel
he/him
The castle's head chef and undisputed ruler of the kitchens. Rumor has it he's been manning Rosavelle's stoves longer than most of the castle staff have been alive, and he has the authority (and knife skills) to back it up. Every dish that leaves his kitchen is a masterpiece - or it doesn't leave at all. Generally agreed to be one of few people able to meet Nadeshiko beat for beat on perfectionism. Gruff but not unkind, Armand has a soft spot for curious newcomers - though anyone who dares enter his kitchen without washing their hands first will learn new definitions of "blanching."
Marina Calendo
he/she
The master of the Crownkeepers' Stables, Marina oversees every hoofbeat and whinny on castle grounds. A lively horserider with sea-salt hair and a habit of speaking to animals as though they're gossiping back, he knows each creature by name, temperament, and preferred snack. Beneath her breezy charm lies the steel of someone who's broken more than a few stubborn stallions (and nobles) into good behavior. If you want a mount, you'll earn it - through kindness, patience, and maybe a few stable chores first.
Fioretta Bellor
she/her
The castle's head gardener and caretaker of the Everbloom's Greenhouse. Cheerful, sun-kissed, and eternally soil-stained, Fioretta treats every flower like a dear friend. She claims the plants speak to her - and considering Rosavelle's magic, that might actually be true. Her knowledge of botany is rivaled only by her tendency to wander mid-conversation to scold a wilting rose. Somehow, she always knows exactly which bloom fits a person's mood, whether they were advertising it or not.
Claude Fontaine
he/they
A polished but slightly scattered scholar who oversees the Amourian Library. The sort of person who can recall the etymology of any word but routinely forgets where he set his glasses. Warm and absentminded in equal measure, they delight in helping newcomers find their way through Rosavelle's history. Known to forget meals, appointments, and occasionally their own shoes, he's still one of the kingdom's foremost experts on magical theory.
Lucia di Bravura
she/her
Master smith of the Emberlight Forge and the steady heartbeat behind Rosavelle's armory and artisanship alike. Built like her anvil and twice as stubborn, her temper is short, her pride enormous, and her laugh louder than the bellows. Despite her rough hands and booming voice, she's got a surprisingly gentle soul - quick to offer guidance to apprentices or to fix a broken trinket for anyone who asks nicely (and maybe brings snacks). The only thing brighter than her forge is her opinion of her own work.
